Don't buy anything. Far better in your situation to get in a local sound
company to do it. You would get better equipment, better results and, most
importantly, the expertise to run it properly.

Where are you based? Maybe someone here could give you some pointers on who
to go to.

This is just a replacement for an EV spkr that I had been using for vocals
and keys in my rehearsal space. I realize that this is a pro live sound
forum...however, I thought this would be the most likely place for people to
know the value of that particular piece of gear. I'm *not* some tool that
thinks he's going to set up the sound system in a club, church, etc. with no
experience. Although I have been a tool before with many other things
elsewhere :)
The set up I have works fine for it's purpose I just need another enclosure
about the size of this Peavey SP5TI that this person wants to sell, and
neither of us wants to rip the other one off.
TIA to any respondents.
Ken

I just bought two SP5Ti's for 100 bux. They're decent, solid-built speakers. For a 15 inch in a sealed cab, they do not have the deepest bass. (80 to 17000 hz) BUT that's okay. A set of SP2's with Black Widows sounded very muddy to me...I usually prefer 12 or even 10's BUT these were a good deal and I'm actually happy I now have an acoustic speaker I can run at higher volumes. The Scorpion bass is fine and the SP22 XT is okay as the HF ALTHOUGH, I am tempted to replace them with some used Emilar's I've found for 20 bux each. THe horn lense is a shorter throw than say an SP2, BUT that's okay for what I"m using them for.

I like Eminence drivers, BUT I'd rather stay with the Scorpion and a recone if need be. AND personally, I don't see me needing to do that for quite some time.

The only thing I wish I'd got there in time to get were the matching 18 inch subs, also a 100 bux a pair. Frontoaded with the pipes so you could mount these up above them.
