Photo Slide Show Software DVD & PC |
|
|
Need an advice, please. I am looking for some type of software that
allows you to create slide shows from photos, with fancy effects and
such. Seems like a natural extension of that to also offer a slide
show-type CD/DVD that includes a bunch of photos of the subject. I have
used 'PhotoShow' software which can create VCD - (can only play in some
DVDs) - Is there a general software to use for ALL DVDs and is
compatable to place on PC? I'd like to create a photo slide show and at
the end of the photo slide show, include an invitation or announcement
ie., birth announcements.
What kind of software is used to create the CDs/DVDs? Does anyone know
anything in general about that technology, like what's required for CDs
playable on PCs, vs. DVDs playable on TVs?
Thanks in advance!

record your voice, add transitions, add music, captions, create menus &
certainly you can have a blank (or as many as you need) slide to which you
can add the color of your choice & write an invitation... don't forget to
send me one!! At the end, you burn your CD or DVD which you will be able to
play in your standalone DVD Player. I paid for the Picture Show 4 Upgrade
around $30, but don't know how much would be the full version. Oh... forget
to tell you: it's very easy work with, user friendly!! |

I've tried many available software programs for doing what you want and
wound up with MemoriesOnTV, it's available at http://www.codejam.com/ . It
is by far the easiest and most flexible one of the bunch. Great
transitions, create multiple chapters within a DVD, add as much music as you
want, Ken Burns effect, pan and zoom on individual pictures, no limit to the
amount of pictures, the list goes on and on. It's only $50 and you can try
it for free. |

Thanks for the recommendations... I heard that some DVD photoshow
software aren't compatible to ALL dvd players? Is there a software that
is standard to all dvd players - My dvd player is about 2 years old -
my cousin gave a photo slide show on DVD using Roxio software, and
unfortunately, it didn't work on my dvd player... I'm afraid that if I
start offering this service to my customers for my business and I've
put all my work, ship the finished product to the customer, and it ends
up not working... This can cause conflict... and I'd feel extremely
bad... Any ideas? Thank you so much!! |

Using MemoriesOnTV as I mentioned in my other post I have never had a
compatibility problem with DVD players. I burned a +RW DVD and can play it
just fine in my 3 year old JVC players that clearly omits compatibility with
any + media in it's specs. I think you'll find that compatibility will have
more to do with the media type you use that the slideshow software. Not all
DVD players will play all types of media. Usually -R is the most
compatible, while I have seen DVD burners that won't do -R, I don't recall
coming across a DVD player that won't use it but then again I haven't seen
every DVD player out there. |

In response to your problems viewing the slideshows on a DVD -- most DVD players will play DVD-R media, but I have found that even the newer ones don't. Then I began readeing the posts here and am wondering if its the SOFTWARE also that is causing the problem? I use Sonic MyDVD Studio Deluxe to burn .WMV .MPEG files to a DVD then watch on TV with a DVD player. I also use Sonic MyDVD Studio Deluxe to create slideshows (from scanned pictures or slides) but have fonud that some DVD players (newer ones) dont recognize or cant read the DVD!
This is frustrating! So, I think I am going to try the MemoriesOnTV software - which I have read ehre works very well. http://www.codejam.com/motv.htm
Any other suggestions willl help! Thanks! |
