Has anyone had any luck with dual/double layer DVD-Rs in terms of
getting them to play on older Toshiba players. I have the SD-1750,
SD-200 and SD-6200 machines and they only play DVD-Rs, or DVD+RWs
where I used a bitsetting program prior to burning.

I'd like to get a dual layer burner, but I need to know if using
bitsetting utilities will allow me to play dual layer DVD-Rs on these
machines. I'm looking at getting the Pioneer 109 or NEC 3520 mdels.

Are there any published reports yet on the compatibility of
double/dual layer DVD-Rs?

Roberta

P.S. I appreciate whatever help anyone can offer!

Thanks for the help. I had already checked there.

One person reports success with bitsetting on the SD-2200, but I'd
like to know what people have been finding in general. If they have
had luck, what brands of discs and software are they using?

I typically use Scenalyzer to capture, CCE to encode and TMPGEnc DVD
Author to author and burn the discs. I am using a TDK 440N burner and
use DVDInfo Pro to perform the bitsetting function on +RWs.

Roberta

P.S. Any news on a release date for dual/double layer -Rs yet?

Why do you bother to waste your own time by answering questions that
exist only in your own mind?

I asked for opinions on the Pioneer and NEC....nothing more.

Oh.....thanks.

My advice for him: If you want a new machine, throw yours in the
garbage and buy another one. No hassle, no ads, no spam, no wasting
valuable time.
