Backup The Terminal |
|
|
Good morning Ladies and Gents:
Bought the movie, decided to back it up. Got this Cyclic Redundancy Check
message....
1) I have AnyDVD installed
2) I used DVD shrink and DVD Decryptor and recieved same error on both
programs.
3) Can't see any deformaties on DVD, scratches etc.
4) Original plays fine in my KOSS DVD player.
5) Using a program called CD check, it reports errors.
6) I am guessing that it is a security feature, and not a true "bad disc"
Any thoughts??

I used to get these errors reading via my DVD Writer but all problems
vanished when I bought a cheapo DVD Rom just to read discs!
I still can't explain why this works,The same occurred with a lot of TV
Series on DVD that I have and tried backing up...No chance using the DVD
Burner to read but no problem using a DVD ROM Drive.
The only way I can explain it?
I have a STB DVD Recorder,That sometimes won't play the same disc the DVD
Writer cannot back-up,Yet my Normal STB DVD Player does read them perfectly
:-/
If it won't read on a DVD ROM then I'm guessing it is a manufacturing fault
that cannot be seen by eye? |

I should add that I only use DVD Shrink for ripping and compression.
Sometimes a DVD won't rip because of the same error message you report, but
there is always obvious damage to the original DVD. When this happens in my
computer's internal DVD drive, I can nearly always resolve it by ripping from
my external drive (unless the DVD is cracked, which I am normally not willing
to even place in a drive). |
