New heavy version of Jingle Bells by Tim McCarthy |
|
|
Hi everyone,
Tim McCarthy is a talented musician and writer that I've had the pleasure of
working with in several different bands. He took some time today to compose
his own rendition of Jingle Bells to send to several of his band mates and
musical friends as just a bit of fun for the holiday season. He calls it
'Merry Christmas Mother F****r!' or MCMF. He composed the entire thing on
his computer using soft synths and samplers and several tracks of his own
voice of course.
While he didn't originally intend for this to be distributed outside of a
small circle of friends, I was so impressed with it after listening to it
several times I called and asked Tim if it would be OK to send it to a few
other people. While I'm sure Tim would of liked to spend a lot more care
recording and mixing this before it was presented to a bunch of industry
pros, I think it's really well done considering how quickly he did it.
I thought some of you would get a kick out of it but be warned that it's not
your typical holiday style of music. It's a somewhat
twisted/heavy/progressive/alternative/death metal sort of take on the
traditional song. It doesn't contain any offensive language ( other than the
title ) but some may not enjoy hearing a holiday song done in such an . . .
.. 'intense' way! ;-)
An MP3 of it can be down loaded here :

If there is interest I can get details on how he recorded this.
Have a great Christmas and holiday season everyone!
