Quote:

in order to do this single phase you need 6 20 amp circuits
a 20 amp circuit is 2400 watts at 120 volts

The behringer is configured with eurobloc terminal strip

the input is
hot1
hot2
hot3
ground
neutral

with three edisons you hook the black from each whip to one of the hots
you combine all the neutrals to the single neutral point on the
terminal strip and combine all the grounds to the SAFETY point on the
terminal strip

of course you could also hard wire it to a disconnect in the lighting case

I choose to make mine on Edison as the only 60 amp connector is a
camlocs , I choose to break mine down into 20 amp inputs

my output, there are NO output connectors just another terminal block
inside the dimmer
I wired a soco to the euroblock
hots going to the loads and again ganging all the neutrals on the one
neutral bus and all the grounds on the safety bus

with this I can hook a soco directly to one of my Thomas light bars for
a 6 x1000 watt light set

OR
I can hook a dual Edison outlet panel to the soco and run 12 500 watt
loads off each dimmer pack
pics are available, though I would need a week or so to drag out the
dimmer to take them
I would guess I have close to 100$ into the hook up and output patch
panel per dimmer in addition to the 180$ cost of the dimmer

George

George

Thanks George, much apreciated. I'll look into that when i've finished
this ridiculous lot of gigs. 2 a day until christmas eve now.

Luckily its only 2 venues one in the afternoon and the other at night.
Lucky i have 2 rigs one set up in each but its still taking all my time.

Thanks once again.

Forgot the link =)

Hubble makes pin and sleeve connectors in single and three
phase in the 16-125amp range. They're not cheap though. Another
alternative is their twist lock connectors, but they're
only available up to 50A.

Humm Greybar could not source them.
I didn't try Grainger

As an alternative, check with Creative Stage Lighting.
http://www.creativestagelighting.com/ They've got the best Hubble pricing
I've found.

FWIW, we have a bunch of the Yorkville elite gear. We use
the ES1004 double 18" subs (and the newer LS1004) along with
the EF508 top cabinets and EM508 monitors. The switches on
the cabinets have never been a problem.

I doubt the switches on the Behringer will either
they even have a locking device to prevent accidently movement

I've never experienced an accidental switching with the Yorkville's.
You'd really have to drop a cabinet hard to achieve that.

Understandable... Only catch is the 20A rating of the edison.

If you need help with it email me
important do not over size you wiring
you will be ganging all the neutrals to one spot on the term strip and
all the grounds to another

keep the edison to about 2 feet on their whips this will give about 18
inches outside the dimmer
14 guage on the edisons and
I am not sure but I think 16 guage can easily handle 1200 watts for a
couple of feet(dimmer to patch panel)

I would be happy to send you a cd with complete pics of how I did it

hell Tim your close enough you can come see it!!!

George

According to this chart you can use 16 guage for up to 22 amps in a
"chassis wiring" situation(what you doing)

you could even get by on 18 guage for the short distance your running

the other rating is "power transmission" this I believe is for 100 foot
length

my application is very small at this time. just 4 par 38 with 150 to 250 W
lamps. all I want (currently) is a blue scene and a magenta/amber scene.

it might grow if i keep on doing the blues show, however it's mostly one and
2 outlet venues.

im looking for a T bar for ultimate stands... my usual sources don't have em
and cant or wont get them.
