I've looked at several video editing packages. None seems
to have this feature. I have a digitized video in which the
camera was rotated 90 degrees to shoot a couple of scenes.
I want to rotate those scenes 90 degrees (clockwise if it
matters). Does anyone know of editing software that will do
this? If so, can you give me some hints about how to go
about it? Thanks. - Tony Lima

The only program I know of is Premiere Pro and you can rotate the image
using the 'Motion' effect. There may be other programs including freeware
but don't know of them. Others here might be able to pint you in the right
direction for those

Sony Vegas 5 does this. The less expensive Sony package may also, I
think it's call Vegas Movie Studio.

The "Magix" "Video Deluxe SE" I found for $2.50 in a
discount bin, can. Or just use one of the rotate filters in
VDubMod for free.

Luck;

I'm sure VirtualDub (Freeware) has this feature, it only works with Avi's
thou, not Mpeg's.

As to hints, remember the Landscape and portrait modes of Printers, what are
you going to do to solve this problem?

You can either stretch to fill the screen, or leave massive black bars on
left & right sides.

BTW If working with DV-Avi format Avi's, make sure that you have a DV Codec
installed and that they are in type 2 format.

Re-Ask if you need help in configuring VirtualDub.

Rich, thanks for the pointer. I've downloaded Vegas and it does look
promising. Now where can I find some help learning to use it? The
manual is useless (especially for a novice like me). The tutorials
I've found on the web are either too advanced or just don't work.

On the off chance that you can solve my problem, here's what I need to
do:

1. Import the video from either avi or mpeg format into Vegas.
2. Split it into scenes. (Yes, I have a copy of Scenalyzer.)
3. Delete a couple of scenes.
4. Rotate one or two scenes 90 degrees. (Yes, I know the aspect ratio
will screw up the appearance. I'll settle for the black bars on
either side of the rotated clip.)
5. Save the video as either avi or mpeg.

I have a Plextor analog - digital video converter and have already
digitized the film.

Thanks again. - Tony
