some time ago I ripped a few videos using DVD Decrypter.
If I try to use DVD Shrink on those files, I get a message that the
above file cannot be found.
I used IFO mode with DVD Decrypter.
Is this the problem?

DVDShrink needs all of the video files files to work.
ie ifo, bup, vobs.
You can use Ifoedit to reconstruct the missing ifo files

not really, the problem is most likely you ripped the movie only, and needed
to rip the movie + ifo files... |
