Not going to grumble, but what is it supposed to do? Because it is
sure as hell doing nothing without the output valve's cathode
connected to at least something.

I think that's exactly the point since Adam asked for it .....
The way you put it might smell like starting a flame war , as we
sadly used to here ......

If I am asked to comment on a circuit, I don't redesign it to suit my
own taste before doing so - I comment on the circuit as designed by
the designer.

I cannot view the circuit in question since I have lousy service from my
ISP.

Care to send the schematic in a package of about 200 kB?
pdf, jpg, or gif please.

Don's original post seems OK to me, Ronald. Could be a wink or a
smirk...depending on your own interpretation.

cheers, Ian

OK - I will spell it out. The circuit will not work, because the
centre tap of the output valves heater winding needs to be grounded.

Having grounded the centre tap of the output valves heater winding,
the circuit will operate. I hesitate to say work, because this is one
of the most benightedly awful amplifier circuits I have ever seen. In
fact, I would call it an effects box rather than an amplifier.

Better?

If you really bother about that "typo", you should also have noted than none
of the heathers are powered.

Not in the signal path, so I was prepared to take them as read.
