I used to burn cd-r audio discs using my old fujitus-siemens notebook
& an external Sony crx85a cdrw drive. The cd-r audio discs played fine
in my 1999 volvo car audio player.
I now have a different notebook with an internal matsushita cdrw/dvdrw
drive. The cd-r audio discs burnt using this drive play fine in the
notebook & fine in various other audio equipment that I have at home.
However when I play them in the car they always skip during tracks 2 &
3 (on different discs).
I am using the same software (Musicmatch) & the same media (sony cd-r
discs) that I used with my old burning equipment.
Is it a case that the new faster notebook I'm now using is producing
discs that are too sensitive for my car audio player? Would burning at
slower speeds help?

Burn them at 1X...then step it up slowly if you want to see how fast
you can burn them at. I had a problem with a Chevy OEM stero that would
only skip if I burned them at a higher rate.

I typically see this with older stereo's and OEM stuff. I had a chevy
S10 that could only read cd-rs if I burnt them at 1X anything hire, I
would get skipping, etc. Slow down the burns to 1X or 2X then see how
high you can push them...
