Something strange about DrDivX |

greets all,
I just started using DrDivX to encode my DV footage and noticed something very odd.
Immediately after encoding from DrDivX is complete, you are given the option to play
the newly encoded DivX file directly from the DrDivX interface.
On my system, when I click this button, it opens up and begins to play the newly
created DivX movie in WMP 10.
What's amazing is that the graphic quality of this file (as opened directly from
DrDivX) is absolutely amazing! I mean, it almost looks like vector graphics, as it
is so crisp, clear, and undistorted, especially in titles and text that have fine and
thin lines in them.
Ok, what's odd is, I close down DrDivX,, then open up the SAME file in either WMP or
DivX Player, and suddenly it doesn't look as great anymore ... at least nothing like
what you had seen earlier from DrDivX. Especially at smaller sizes, and especially in
the smaller, thin lines of my titles. What's the deal?
Suffice it to say that when I preview directly from DrDivX immediately after
encoding, it CAN'T LOOK any better! But after you close down the Doctor, and view
the file by other means, you see the imperfections.
At first I thought it might have something to do with interlacing settings. But the
lines are divided and sheared more on the vertical than the horizontal.
The 7.6MB file output as viewed directly from the Doctor looks BETTER than the
original 195MB DV source file! What gives?
