CloneDVD or DVD X Copy in my opinion are far better... but you got to pay
for these while DVDShrink is free.

Nothing beats DVD Shrink, especially its pre 3.2 version.

What is wrong with the versions after that?

One of the problems with DVD Shrink is that those who praise talk about
stuff that beginners (like me) have no idea about - GOPS and bit rates
and stuff like that.

For that reason, until recently, I gave it a wide berth, prefering to
use the one button copy program DVDX Platinum. Then after reformatting
my hard disk and being too lazy to reinstall DVDX copy, and needing to
copy a DVD at short notice, I decided in desperation to try DVD Shrink.

I was delightfully surprised at how easy it was to use - I didn't have
to worry about all that crap - just selected the dsik I wanted to copy
and off it went to do a check - when it finished I just selected main
movie, then clicked the backup button. A short time later I had a copy
of that DVD that works perfectly.

All that from a free program! Now I wouldn't use anything else

Hi quietguy, I find your comment most interesting, the reason? I went in the
opposite direction, I had been using DVDShrink for sometimes & was
relatively satisfied with the results, but in order to fit the movie into my
DVD I had to eliminate this or that; then came the latest DVDShrink whereby
this incredible tiny program does all for you. That is it compresses the
original to fit into your DVD.... BUT, I think that if the compression is
over 70% then you get problems, pixilation, etc. I'm now using DVDX Copy
Platinum version 4.0.3.8, Simple Mode & ALL I do is click one button &
EVERYTHING is copied, including languages, commentaries, extras... & my
copies, SO FAR (knock on wood) are flawless... But I agree with you, DVD
Shrink is great & it's free... but for me, DVD X Copy is King!!
