Drivers for better bass drum kicks |
|
|
What do I need, speaker wise, in order to get clean, accurate,
distortion free bass drum kicks at high volumes? I noticed that my
current setup distorts at high volumes whenever there are bass kicks in
the music. All my speakers are amped also.
Do I need a sub? Do I just need dedicated midbass drivers? Or do I need
both?
Thanks

A powered subwoofer or woofer will help. Once you get it, run the other
line-level signals through high-pass filters to relieve those speakers
of the lower frequencies that they're having trouble with.
The frequency of a drum kick varies but a typical subwoofer should have
it in its range. |

A sub and a midrange will help.
Kicker and JL audio makes good subs for that.
