That's DVD-RW media format specification version.
The udf version you are thinking of is 1.02.

Although I have stopped and disabled the above funtion
regarding your advice, I STILL have met the the "General
Formating Error" (TDK DVD-RW media - minus RW media) by DLA.
(DLA - Drive Letter Access)
By the way, I have formatted WELL to EMTEC DVD+RW (plus RW media)
before your above advice.

When your stand alone dvd recorder displays a disc error closing
message. god thats annoying when this happens! that disc is now a
coaster. anyway does that message always mean the disc is at fault? or
does the recorder sometimes just crash and choke? |

I have met the General Formatting Error with all of the
three pcs. of TDK's DVD-RW minus media(1x~4x) (Taiwanese
made) by DLA packet writing software.
For your reference, I inform that I have recorded very
well with SKC's DVD-R minus media(1x~4x) (Korean and
Hong Kong China made) by the general DVD recording
software.
And, I inform that I have formatted very well with
EMTEC's DVD+RW plus media(1x~4x) (Taiwanese made) by
DLA packet writing software.
And, I remember that I have recorded very well with
anonymous DVD+R plus media by the general DVD record-
ing software.
My SONY DRU-510A(Rom ver. 1.1a) has been always
silence.
DLA (Drive Letter Access).
How do I avoid this formating error with TDK's DVD-RW
media by DLA ? Please advise me !

You can put two DVDs together using this process:
a] DVDShrink the 1st DVD into folder 1 in re-author mode
b] DVDShrink the 2nd DVD into folder 2 in re-author mode
c] DVDShrink both of them into folder 3 in re-author mode
DVD Shrink can edit our as much of the BEGINNING and END of each
chapter as you like.
I don't know if you can DVDShrink out the MIDDLE of a chapter though
(do you)? |

The source is 23.976 fps NTSC, and Tmpgenc recognised it as a 23.976 fps
NTSC file. Would the above still apply even though it is NTSC? |

You are assuming a correlation between C1 and C2 errors
which is stronger than reality.
They are different measures and while they do have a gross
correlation, it is not the sort you are expecting.
I still feel that C1 and C2 errors are substantially different.

I think that a C2 error is a C1 error(s) that couldn't be corrected
with the C1 error correction capabilities. They're not independant,
they're basically the same thing except for which level of error
correction can correct the error. You're using a program that just
doesn't report C1 errors, as indicated by the fact that the "C1 error"
part in your screenshot is greyed out.
Now I know why you can create disks that have no C1 errors.
