Audio dropout ? |
|
|
I have a Panasonic HT-920 Home theater in a box. Lately when I change to
digital in that is being broadcast in 5.1 the audio drops out and the front
of the receiver/dvd flashes sometimes for up to a minute. You have to
change channels to get the audio to finally come back on. What is causing
this? Sometimes it only does it for a few seconds and other times for a
long period.
Is there something I need to do? Can someone comment on this please?
Thanks...

I think you need to try some 5.1 audio from a different source like a DVD
player (or a different DVD player) to see if the problem is actually in the
receiver or the source. I'm leaning towards the receiver - if the display is
cutting out also, which I think is what you were saying.

I have tried it with both the DVD that the receiver has in it and my dvd
recorder that is hooked up to it. BOTH play Dolby 5.1 with NO problems or
dropouts at all. ONLY on the cable box does it drop out and not all the
time and when it does ever come on it usually doesn't go back off. It only
drops out when changing to 5.1 from pro logic II or vice versa but not every
time. Sometimes only a few seconds sometimes a few minutes. I have it
hooked to a optical splitter but that worked perfect on the DVD recorder
today. Any other solutions you might think of I would appreciate.
Thanks...

The hand of God.He is angry with us maybe. No, I'm not making fun of you,
I've seen many inexplainable things that can be explained though, if someone
admits the presence of God.
