Well, the biggest hurdle other than using decss is that many commercial
DVDs are dual layer and contains more than 4.7GB of data. The media
and burners you buy are not dual layer and will only store 4.7GB of data.
using decss in linux involves
csscat -d /dev/dvd VTS{whatever}.VOB > UNENCRYPTED_VOB.VOB
I believe that individuals have the right to protect their investment by
making reasonable backup copies of their DVDs but do NOT endorse using
the above procedure to pirate intellectual property or copyrighted
material.
