How do you mean? divx is a codec and dvd is a type of media.

Traditionally, dvds use the mpeg2 codec and contain the data in VOB files.
You can put divx AVIs on a dvd but it won't usable by most commercial players.

If you want a backwards compatible DVD then you need to transcode the divx
to VOB files containing MP2 or AC3 sound and MPEG2 video.

There are several ways to do this but it will depend on whether you are using
windoze or a unix variant.

I use Ulead's DVD Studio SE that came bundled with my DVD burner. I just
add the DivX (or MPEG-2 or AVI, or anything else) in the project and the
software does the rest. Very easy !!
