Its often said that once DL reaches a low price that pirates will favour
this over normal DVD+/-R. But

Normal DVD+/-R will still be cheaper.

Normal DVD+/-R will still be more compatible with existing DVD players.
(I suspect, even Pirates like happy customers :)

Some DVDs have a noticable pause when switching layers will this pause be
in the correct place when a pressed DVD9 is copied?

DL will have a clear advantage for multi-disc box sets but I dont think so
for single films.

I suspect pirates will stick with normal DVD5 for a long while yet.
