Yes, simply copy all the files from the directory to your HDD, you will
need a DVD-ROM or a Burner that can read a -RAM disk, then edit the file
with any editor that supports the -VR format. eg TMPGEnc DVD Author.

And UDF2 drivers.

If not available on your DVD drive's software CD, these can be got either
from installing InCD v4 or here:
http://panasonic.co.jp/pcc/products/en/drive/comb/kxlcb30a/download.html
(for a non-Panasonic drive like my LG, the Panasonic-specific part of the
installation is disabled - KXLCB30A.EXE can only be used to install UDF2).

I managed to use the Tmpg application - it took an hour and when I brought
it in to premier there was no sound - I chose sound as well as video when
encoding with tmpg ?

When you say TMPG, I suspect you mean TMPGEnc rather than TMPGEnc DVD
Author. Although I only use the latter, I believe the former requires
purchase of their AC3 encoder to get a soundtrack, while the latter will
produce even an AC3 sountrack without said purchase, but you can't hear the
AC3 soundtrack in the program while editing.

My LG came with UDF drivers. I was of the understanding though that XP had
native support for UDF ? I use W2K though so I am unsure.

You've probably got a more recent LG model than my GCC-4620B.

I'm also on W2K so also not sure about XP, but OP didn't specify OS anyway.

The reason I'm still on W2K is that when I tried XP, with all the SPs and
updates installed which should have fixed the known XP CPU100% problem(s),
whenever in Explorer I opened a share containing media files, the CPU still
went 100%.
