Mac Super Drive |
|
|
I am using a Mac G5 with a Super Drive dvd burner. I have tried to
create a backup copy of one of my movies and am not having any luck. I
have used MacTheRipper and DVD2oneX with no luck, I tried Fast DVD
Copy 2.0 still no luck, also I have tried Fast DVD copy 3.0 and again
no luck, each time my home dvd player will not read the finished
product but the Mac will. Can someone tell me what would be my best
bet would be to make a a backup copy?

What type of DVD media are you using, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW or DVD+RW?
The formats above are listed in rough order of compatability with
standalone players, ie. DVD-R is considered to have the highest
compatability.
FWIW I've used MacTheRipper and DVD2OneX without any problems (G5 with
SuperDrive, which is a Pioneer 107D). The fact that the ripped disc
plays on your Mac, but not your home player, suggests you should try
using a different type of media.
Cheers,
Tony

I am using DVD-R, both Sonic 4X DVD-R discs, and Maxell DVD-R 4X.

Have you tried opening and playing about 20 seconds of the selection with
the Mac DVD Player?
Then using the two programs?
I would use DVD Backup over ripper
Try that first, I donšt think its the media
