hey guys i just captured only 22 min of footage of my son from our sony D8
dv. I used WMM to grab. I didnt use any editing, titles, etc, just barebones
unedited footage and saved as avi, iwanted best quality possible to put on
dvd. the 22 min of footage is 4.9gb! how do i shrink that down to put on
dvd? do i have to save at lower quality to put on dvd? i dont want to do
that though! its digital8 and i want best picture possible! there must be a
way! why is it i can copy 2 hour dvd onto a 4.7gb disc, but my 22 min is
4.9gb! the quality cant be any better than a hollywood dvd! right?

Use TMPGEnc to encode your avi file into DVD-compliant MPEG2 format.
Even at highest quality settings, you can fit about an hour on a DVD.

If you want the DVD to be playable on a standalone DVD player, you'll
need to load your MPEG2 file into an authoring program. You can use
TMPGEnc DVD Author or DVDLab for that (both can be tried for free).
