Philips DVP-642 and ASF with no sound |
|
|
Anybody else experience this, and is there a solution? Sound comes out
on computer. And, video comes out OK on the DVP-642 but with no sound.

Check to see what codec is needed to play the avi with gspot. You may have
to re encode the sound. I had a file like that once, can't remember what
format the sound was, but the sound was out of sync or stopped all together
at times. I re-encoded the sound with virtual dub and then it played
perfectly on my Philips player.

At first gspot wouldn't show the info, but after rendering, it said:
Audio Path [S] --> Moonlight Odio Dekoda --> Morgan Stream Switcher -->
MatrixMixer --> [R] |

The avi file I had trouble playing had some kind of pcm audio compression.
I used virtual dub to separate the sound to a wave file and then
recompressed it using a lame cbr setting. Worked fine on the Philips player
after that.
