I have a Samsung 552B and when I put a blank DVD-R in (TYG02 8x), Nero
only shows it as having a capacity of 3.9GB. The same disc in my
friend's drive shows 4.3GB+

Does anyone have any idea why? I have upgraded the drive to the latest
firmware but this hasn't made any difference.

Thanks a lot,

Bill McHale.

I also have a similar problem with mine. When inserting media to burn dvd's it tells me there is not enough space on the disk, however if I reduce the data to below 3.9gb it will write it fine. Its not the disks as they work fine in another writer.

I also have the latest firmware and have no idea what the problem is !
