Need to replace Nak cd45z-recommendations |
|
|
Hello,
I am fed up with the inconsistent performance of my Nak cd45z...I've
already taken it back for "servicing" but a year later, I'm still
getting skips and problems reading CDs that I know are just fine.
Can anyone provide me with some comparable units to review and test?
I got the Nak for it's sound quality more than anything else and LOVE
it when it plays good. I'm 40 years old and don't want any flashy
pics/graphics running on the unit-just something that is reliable and
sounds great.
Thanks in advance!

Lots of manufacturers make units that are better than that piece of Nak. As
for the non-flashy part, the options are becoming fewer and fewer it seems.
You'll just have to get out there and look for something that catches your
eye. |

It ain't no Nak, but I bought several older Alpines off Ebay for a song.
Work great and have volume KNOBS, no stupid colors or motorized this or
that. Perfect for my needs. There are plenty of older Eclipses, Sony ES's,
etc out there if you don't mind slightly used gear. Have had mine for three
years now without so much as a worry. |

Follow up:
Driving along yesterday with more skips...pulled over to one of one of
our more reputable audio dealers and got the high end Eclipse unit
(8454)...anyway, a bit on the pricey side, but NO MORE SKIPS!!! and I
can turn off any crazy motion picture stuff...I don't mind the
mechanized CD unit either...anyway I'm pleased.
thanks all

Yeah, you should be extremely happy with the 8454. I didn't suggest it
because I thought it might be too flashy. But glad you're happy!
