hi all,
just got a bmw 323i SE auto (1998 E36 model).
anyone any idea what speakers you can fit into the standard holes on this ??
(or suggestions for what i can do speaker wise)
i have a pair of alpine 6x9s and a pair of alpine 5inch from my previous
car.
will be fitting my head unit in the next few days, but no idea what speakers
will fit.
the front looks to have a small speaker in the doors (3 inches ata
guess),and i have no idea whats in the back.
the car had the original owner until 9 months ago,so suspect its still the
original factory fits.
many thanks,
col

I've got older E36. Front speakers are separated. 5"
You can use your Alpine 6x9s speakers, as rear speakes, using an adaptor. It
work fine, and is situated in the trunk.

thanks,
think there are built in bmw crossovers,so a few people had recommended just
running my own wiring cos it may well sound rubbish just replacing the
speakers.

and bmw(built by nokia) front speakers have only high-pass filter on high
tone speakers. it's not a real crossover, but only a parrallel conneted
capacitor. replacing front ones you have to use a crossover to prevent
breaking high tone speakers.

sorry 4 my english. i'm a beginner.

replacing your rear spekers to 6x9, you'll get quite good bass. the change
won't be visible from inside of the car. you should pass only low
frequencies through these speakers to get stereo scene going from front.
(it's pioneer's FIE feature)

hey no probs,
thanks for the help
i suspect the easiest thing to do is to fit my own wiring and ignore the bmw
stuff to be honest
