I have a DVD+R that was recorded on my Philips DVDR985. The disc has been
finalized and plays fine on my PC or my standalone Sony DVD player.
However, when I attempt to copy the disc using DVD Shrink, I get an
"Invalid DVD navigation structure" error. Even though the DVD isn't
encrypted, I tried DVD Decrypter, but it chokes about 1/2 way thru.

Other discs that I have recorded on the DVDR985 do the same thing. They
play fine in DVD players, but trying to copy the disc results in the above
errors.

Can someone point me in the right direction for a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Had similar problems when I had my Philips especially with +R. For making
copies via the PC I always used +RW which for some reason were more
readable.
Also used Sonic MyDVD v4.5 which has an option for DVD+RW Video title import
as used by Philips. This option was dropped in v5 but then my Philips
retired so it wasn't an issue anymore.

That should work (but I have only tried with DVDR-70).

Try this instead:
1) If you want an exact copy, make a disc-copy using Nero or similar.

2) If you want to produce a DVD-Video standard disc so that the Time
search funcktion (Goto Time command) works, you can import the disc
with "TMPGEnc DVD Author". In this case you have to crate a new disc
menu. To be able to hear the sound if you want to edit the recording,
you need the AC3 plug in, but the sound will work even without it.

I tried Nero, but it complained and would do a disc to disc copy. For the
heck of it, I tried Roxio's disc to disc copy and it worked. I hadn't
tried the Roxio product before, but it did what I needed to do.

In any event, I was able to copy the disc.

Thanks for the help! It is appreciated.
