IŽll probably get hammered by the more professional of you out there but i
use Nero Vision Express 3, which is very easy to use and, i find, gives
quite good results. |

Can you give me an idea of how long the conversion times are?
Even before getting my DVD burner, I stopped doing DVD --> SVCD
conversions because it took hours.
I purchased another stand-alone DVD player just so I could play my DivX
movies without re-encoding them. Now Xvid format is out there as well,
which my DVD player will not play (manufacturer's rep told me no flash
updates for my model).
Since the formats are similar, I tried Virtual Dub to reformat. It
worked out for me. A +700 Mb file takes around 1-1/2 hour to convert
from Xvid --> DivX.

Get a Zensonic 330, it plays all Xvid and Divx movies and its flash
uprgradable, and they do updates as well.
