I really want to put that missing low end back into my truck but I dont want
to
take up all the space in the back. The vehicle in question is a 2002 4RNR. I
carry tools and supplies around with me all the time so a rectangular box up
against the back seat is out. I was thinking about coming up from the floor
in
the cargo area. I could use the entire front to back (40 inches) and side to
side width (43 inches) and be able to afford to come up between 6-8 inches. I
was also considering some kind of bandpass (4th) as the top surface of the
box
would ALWAYS have crap tossed on it. I know I cant go with huge drivers and
really didnt want to anyway. I was thinking about using JL 8's. Maybe 2,
maybe
4.
What do you guys think? Will something like this work or should I just deal
with what I have (no sub at all)?
Thanks!

Are you saying that you can put a speaker between the cabin and bed? If
so, go with infinite baffle! Be sure to use a sub meant for IB (high
VAS and displacement). It will be much easier to build and it will be
efficient into single digit Hz; maybe even 1Hz with the windows up. |
