In the folder where I import/capture my videos from my video camera,
along with the main file there are also some small files (about 1k) with
the same name as the main movie file, but with a suffix of .scn

Do I need these? what are they for? What happens if I dont keep them
when I store the movie on disc?

All info appreciated

David

Only when you capture video?
I was going to guess that it's a Scenarist project file, do you have
Scenarist?

most likely they are scene files that contain clipping information for

the video scenes. some editing programs will recreate them if they
are erased but given their small size just ignore them.

I might have misled you there - I am not sure when they were created - I am
not using scenarist - am using Pinnacle Studio 9 for capture and editing.
Justt happened to notice them when I went to my Video folder and wondered
