Figure I'd ask you guys since you'd have to deal with micing them, etc.... I
figure I'd get more truthful answers here than from guitarists who would
like you to make (possible) the same mistake they did by buying one. ;-)

Any opinions on Line-6 amps? I have a friend interested in their newest amp
that emulates other amps/cabinets...all s/w driven. I've heard they're
decent amps but not too reliable over time. Thanks.

My brother playes the Line 6 AX212 and it's a very nice sounding amp, no
mesa boogie but with all it can do it doesn't seem to matter.
you are correct they are not the most road worthy amps my bro has had to
repair seveal things on it.. but if you treat it good and had it in a proper
case i'm sure it would fair better.

I've used a few and they've always sounded OK. Have had to use a DI out on
them several times and ALWAYS need a ground lift.

When I had my accident back in 1997 we had one of the first line 6 combos in
the trailer. Despite being thrown all over the free way it survived and
still worked fine.

Hey Phil,
I know what you mean by ground lift but it would sure be nice if you
clarified that it is on the signal cable and not on the power cable.
I usually refer to it as a pin1 lift. Sorry for being anal about it.
I just see too many guys running around with no ground pins on their stuff
because of ground loops.
I wont let them play on my stage if they dont have grounds on the power
cords.
I actually carry a few replacement ends in my kit just in case.

I would hate to have someone die on any stage I was working.

Al ways on the signal cable, NEVER on the power.
