Topfield to DVD |

Hi Guys
I hate to be long winded but I'm brand new here and need to set the scene.
I need to buy some software to get Toppy files onto DVD. I have a Topfield TF5000pvrt connected to my PC via an Ice Box. I've read heaps of info on plenty of forums but cannot find exactly what I'm looking for, let alone the software they all speak about. I have Nero 6 with Vision express 4, Project X, PVA Strumento and DVD Author GUI plus lots of converters and burning software including Shrink and several editors including Studio 9 and Visual Studio (old version).
I need to know where to get a copy of Wombles MPEG Video Wizard and Videoredo so I can compare the programs and prices. any other clues on what talks to what would be very helpful as well.
I read that you can drop a Topfield .rec file straight into Nero Vision 6 but is that Nero Vision 4 that comes with Nero 6?? I tried Nero Vision 4 using the output of Project X but it wouldn't burn so then I tried PVA Strumento which produced a perfect edited picture with no sound.
I'm confused and frustrated. the only success so far has been using 5 programs as in Project X or PVA Strumento then to DVD Author GUI which nothing seems to be able to burn so I then put it through Nero Recode and then Shrink to burn. It came out ,OK but there seems to be quite a noticeable quality drop using my Yamaha S550 DVD Player and 42" LG Plasma
Can anyone help please?
