Older dish, one head (LNB?), first series tivo, dual tuner |

Sorry for the probably dumb question everyone. I've tried doing some searches but havent found anything exact yet. I have a directv dish, from about 4 years ago, and a first series tivo from about 1 or 2 years ago. When they installed my satellite onto my house, they ran a double coax cable down to a "junction box" outside and then tied into my original coax leading into the house.
There is an open spot on the junction box for another coax. If I tied in, and ran another line into the second tuner... could I just call directv and have it turned on? I'm not a fan off heights, and would rather not climb to the top of my two story house to see if the other coax is connected. Is it safe to assume both are hooked up to the dish itself, and therefor live to the junction box?
Would that work? Do I need to contact anyone else?
Thanks for any help. I just want to be sure before I spend the money on the coax and drill another hole through concrete!
