In trying to trim photos downloaded through my new Canon Zoombrowser EX 5.1, I can follow the first editing steps to specify "trim" and then drag the little photo frame to frame what I want to keep, but the text for what (according to the "help" steps) should come next -- "trimming" and "ok" are on the screen as light grey (rather than black), and therefore I can't click on them to activate what has been designated...

Am thinking there is some very simple reason for this...Any thoughts?

Photos from this file have been e-mailed to people, so it seems that they are actually downloaded onto the hard drive, at least.

Am flabbergasted that there appears to be no offer of technical support (at least not a quickly accessible one) from Canon on these sorts of beginner questions...I found this web site after a bunch of Googles/Yahoo tries, and am not sure if this is too off point for the folks that frequent this forum...and if it isn't, suggestions for other help sources are also welcome...

Thanks, Zenith

I'm using Zoombrowser EX 5.0 and can't find the function you used. There is "crop" in the image editing window, the operation seems straightforward.

I've never used built-in image editing software from digital cameras. Maybe you can try some free editing software, such as PhotoFiltre
