Monitor help |
|
|
I want set use a separate monitor mix for 2 different members, they each
want effects to come through the monitors. I have 3 auxs on my board. The
board has on board fx, but I'm using an out board fx unit for the mains.
What should I do.
I know I'm probably not giving enough info, but I'm kinda lost.
Thanks,
SS
I do have a extra fx unit a Yamaha R1000 that I can use if needed.

Why not try what is usually done? Use 2 of the aux sends to create the
2 monitor mixes. Use the third aux send to drive the FX. Take the
channel(s) where you return the FX into the board and send it (them) to
the first 2 aux sends.

Each person who wants a seperate monitor mix, will need their own aux.
You will then need an aux for each effects unit that you run.
So, if you need a mix for each of these two people, and an effects send then
this is three auxes, which is good as that is all you state you have on your
desk.
On the return channel for the effects unit, send that to the auxes for the
two monitor mixes. |

there are several paths that you can take. one would be aux 1 and aux 2 out
to FX then to mon amp(s). (assuming the FX has a wet - dry adjust)
another way would be rout the FX return to a line input and bring up the FX
in the monitor mix(s).
another way is to use a split snake and use a separate mixer on the stage
mons.
another way is to use insert jacks on each vocal channel... this usually
makes both the mains and the mons "wet". this requires a separate FX unit or
channel of a unit for each mic input. |
