DVD burner drivers and application software. |

Hello,
I have a NEC ND1300A DVD re-writer. Somewhere along the line, it
has lost its ability to read and write DVD+RW disks. The 2 disks I have are
OK in a stand alone DVD player. My DVD drive in the computer will play CD's,
DVD's DVD-R's I have several questions...
1/ When I look at 'My Computer', the description for 'Devices with removable
storage' reads DVD-RW Drive (D:) CD Drive. Should it acknowledge that is a
DVD RW?
2/ The Drive came bundled with Nero OEM suite 1 (Nero 6). What drivers will
that provide to get the DVD player to operate as a re-writer? I think the
answer is none as this bundle does not support DVD formats at all.
3/ The drivers are installed are...
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\cdrom.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\imapi.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\pfc.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\redbook.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\storprop.dll
Are these correct? How does anyone ever know?
Any help suggestions most gratefully received
I Use Cyberlink PowerDVD to view DVD's and Cyberlink PowerDirector 3 to
create (and used to write ) DVDs!
Cheers
Peter.
