Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some feedback from actual Lexicon MX-200 owners who are
currently using the device as a VST Plug-in or more importantly an AU
Plug-in. I've connected an Adaptec Duo Firewire and USB card to my MAC
G4 733MHz 1 Gig Ram computer on OS X 10.3.8 obviously using a USB
cable. The computer is stripped of everything that is not absolutely
necessary hardware and software wise so I shouldn't have any conflicts
but I'm using MOTU's DP 4.12 and A PCI 324 card with a 2408 MK II.
I've disconnected every cable possible to trace down the source of the
problem but it appears to be that when I connect the Lexicon MX200 to
my Computer on either the Adaptec Duo Cards USB or the Onboard USB of
the MAC that the computer gets tied up and eventually crashes. This is
most notable when DP is open and you hit play or check the output of
the Metronome the tempo is sporadic at best just before it crashes.
Things I've already tried: 1. Different USB ports- all have the same
effect. 2. Resetting PRam by holding Apple Option P & R during the
restart of the computer for three rings- No Help at all. 3.
Uninstalling and Reinstalling- No Help. 4. Looking for an updated
driver on Lexicon- None Listed. 5. Contacting Lexicon- just did that
today. 6.Drinking Vodka Shots and Contemplating Assassination of
Product Advertisers- Helped my demeanor but not my problem. 7.
Upgrading OS, software, hardware, or combination of all of these- This
would prove to be bad as I have a limited source of income and I did
not purchase a $200 effects processor to be told I need to purchase a
$3000 G5 computer.
Any and all serious comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to
all who take the time to respond.

Sincerely,
Scott Wynne

I have the unit with a pro tools le setup and it works fine for me, but
i don't use it as a plug in. The usb cable facilitates in my setup the
selecting and editing of patches and parameters from the computer
instead of at the unit. Otherwise I have it hooked up in an effects
loop in the pro tools mixer window. The fx send comes from a send on
each of the channels I want to send to it, routed to the input of the
lex. The output goes into an unused set of inputs on my audio
interface. aux return on pro tools reads that input. So really mine's
set up just like a reverb unit would be with a traditional console, and
the usb interface just gives me the knobs on my computer screen. works
great this way.
