I have 3 Nikon speedlights, an 800 and two 600s.

Is it possible to use the SB-800 as a remote master when it's not on a
camera body? For example stand mount all three lights, trigger the 800
via a pocket wizard, and then have the 800 trigger the 2 600s via
"wireless lighting"?

I've tried to set this up and the 600s appear to trigger 1 second after
the 800.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks,
Steve

I do have a D70, but I'd like to use my Canon 5D and D2X in this way. I
would like to be able to control the 3 flash units from any camera not
just Nikon if possible.

What camera do you use? If it's a D70 you should be able to
trigger them all from the onboard flash. Set them all to the same
group number.

If there is anyone out there who is very familiar with al the functions
of the Nikon SB 800 and SB 600, I would love to chat a bnit and learn
what the various functions are as I am not having a good time learning
with the manuals that came with them. I bought cheat sheets als, but
am still lost and need help.
