Pro Tools crossfade error, need help. |
|
|
I'm working on a Session in Pro Tools TDM 6.4.1 and I have a few loops
I want to crossfade. Normally you just use the selector and select
from the end of one file into the beginning of the next, hit crossfade
and you're done.
Well, for some reason I keep getting an error that says "there is not
enough audio data to perform the currently selected fades." What the
hell does that mean? I've never run in to this problem before. Anyone
know why it's doing this to me?

If the audio in the loops are literally taken to the ends of the files
and you tell it to make a 3 mil crossfade, there isn't anywhere for the
fade to fade into, hence the alert. Same as if you had 200 mil extra,
past the edit point to the end of a file and an edit point that started
200 mil in from the next audio file, and then asked for a 500 mil fade.
Most likely your previous loops had a bit of extra file after the
region points and these don't. |

a solution is to copy one of loops and make sure you include some space in
front and back. Duplicate the file to make a new file, then trim the excess
off and start your loop building. Of course, do this BEFORE you start ;)
( a little late for you now).
