Dvd to PC screen without a PC to avoid tv licence |
|
|
Hi all,
I have no TV licence and no desire to acquire one. But I'd like to view my DVDs on a computer
monitor without using a PC. I'd like to have a DVD scart out and a PC monitor and some sort of magic
cable or box that would connect the two. Do I ask too much?

dvds on a television. its ony programmes that you recieve via broadcast you
need a licence to watch |

hi, you will not need a tv licence, if you don't have a standed tv,
plasma tv, lcd tv, vhs recorder, dvd recorder, a projector, pc and a
HTPC all with a tv turner. Do remmeber that to tell the TV licencing
company though.

Some PC monitors have S-Video input. That should make it easy.

Thanks for that RoRo. Mine is VGA, but I may invest in one that is SVid.

I think that's true, but in my experience of the way things tend to work, it's much more difficult
to get away with not paying the "TV tax" if you don't have a TV or other device capable of receiving
the TV signals. I would prefer there to be no confusion between myself and the authorities, who can
be a bit heavy-handed with serial non-TV watchers like myself. I'll therefore not buy any such
equipment.
