Interlace problems with pinnacle studio+xvid |

Hello
I'm trying to encode some PAL DV video in high resolution XviD (720x576),
using Pinnacle studio and the XviD codec.
However, I'm having a lot of problems with interlacing (the horizontal
stripes which appear when there is movement in the video.)
This problem does not appear when encoding in lower-resolution (320x240)
MPEG.
I've tried just about all possible options in the xvid-setup, and I've been
looking all over the web for answers, but to no avail...
Does anyone know how I can remove the interlacing?
