Hi,

PROBLEM - Importing image files into ULEAD workshop 2.0 that have
transparency. I load them in and yet the transparent backgrounds are
replaced by black or white mattes. This happens no matter what file
format I use - PSD, TIF, PNG, GIF etc. I am designing buttons in Adobe
Photoshop and Illustrator and loading them into Ulead to use as menu
buttons.

The weird thing is that I had just completed a project and somehow
managed to get the button image I wanted straight into the menu (with
no matting), though I can't for the life of me remember how I did it -
it's not even listed in the image menu directory, so I obviously didn't
import it with the standard Ulead method. In that project, having the
button somehow in my menu, I happily copied and pasted it to go accross
all the different menus of that project. Now, despite my repeated
efforts to emulate that feat, I find I can't!

Does anyone know of a simple method by which I could import image files
and keep their transparent layers intact?

Thanks and regards,

Micheal

Hey, wouldn't you know it - I just solved my own problem.

For those of you who might be having the same difficulty, just remember
to import the image file into the libary as an 'object', not as an
image. The transparencies are recognised there!

The preset objects and menus in that program are mostly pretty naff,
but being able to design graphics and motion backgrounds in other
programs and then import them is probably all I ask from a DVD
authoring app.
