I'm currently using a Lynx Two A with Nuendo 2. I really like the sound of
it & I really like mixing in Nuendo however I have a much easier time of
recording in PTLE. I just like the PT edit/record window a whole lot better.
I personally spend more time getting it done however I don't want to lose
the Lynx.

Is there a 2 channel A/D box comparable in price to the Lynx say I was to
get an 002 & use it as the front end? I really only want to record in PTLE &
mix in Nuendo,

Maybe you should look around other apps to see if there is one, preferably
NOT locked to proprietry hardware (for commecial reasons only), that does
everything for you !

The hidden gotcha with the 002 is that it is very picky
about which Firewire ports it will work with. This is
documented in the user guide. I've seen one fail to
recognize the presence of known-good Firewire ports,
particularly on PCs.

Problems like this are basically admissions of an
sub-commercial substandard implementation. It's got to
be a tech-support anchor. IME as a rule, well-designed
Firewire equipment is more compatible than USB 2.0,
which is itself pretty good.

Thanks for the replys. Yeah I currently do not even have
a firewire card on my PC & if I went this route I'd find
a Digi approved card.

My recollection is that there are only two, and I don't know
if they are even in current production.

I had an 001 unit & even Nuendo worked pretty well with
the Digi Asio driver.

That one uses a PCI interface, right?

Horse of a completely different color...

Oh I know, I'm just sayin'...
