Plasma IR Interference? |
|
|
I read on a manufacturer's site that Plasma TVs emit infra red that may
interfere with remotes.
Has anyone who ownes a Plasma TV had any problems with this?
Thanks for any information.

Not me, but someone I used to work with had this problem with an early
plasma display, about 1997 or so. It was so bad she had to put the cable box
on an end table next to the couch on the other side of the room so she could
hold the remote control just an inch or two away from the sensor. I haven't
heard how newer plasmas are, but they must not be as bad since the problem
is rarely mentioned here. |

One of our techs jsut told me about a Philips PDP we installed for a client
that interfered with an IR system placed close to it. We did not sell it,
BTW. This is why we resist installing things we don't sell...and Philips is
definintely not a line we would sell unless we had to.
