Does anyone have any information when the 2nd generation interactive cable
cards (and the TV's that can utilize them) will be available?

Probably when the cable companies, manufacturers, broadcasters, and FCC come
to a usable agreement as far as implimentation of the bi-directional
communication processes. Technical capabilities exist currently but presume
it may be at least second quarter '06 before any real action is realized.
Curently both cable suppliers [installers] and manufacturers are seeing
hiccups installing these items and providing reliable services to the
consumer.

The final standard is in place and at least one vender has submitted a

sample and it passed the approval process. Expect to see some product by
Spring 2006. Most major vendors have not even submitted samples for testing
and approval yet.

Richard.
