Scientific Atlanta 8300HD static sound |

Hi, I'm on my second Sci Atl 8300HD PVR. First box had a problem where
some recordings would have no sound other than loud static. No voices
come through at all.. Seemed to be related to recording 2 shows at the
same time.
Cable company swapped for a new one. Now, after like a month of perfect
service, the wife recorded something the other night, same issue. The
entire hour show has the loud static, as far as i can tell...
Does not seem related to amount of free disk space on the box, I've
tried deleting all shows and the problem persists.
I don't see anything about this problem on the net. Am i the only one?
