Backorder B&H already 5 months... |

This is just some negative feedback and a caution to all that purchased
something in backorder at B&H...
I have bought at B&H several times with very good experience (quick
delivery etc) but this time it's really out of hand. Back in June (5
months ago!) I ordered several things, and some parts needed to be
backordered (speedring for softbox). The order said 7-10 business days
for the backordered item. The softbox is already here with me but
without the speedring I haven't been able to use it for 5 months.
In the meanwhile I e-mailed them about 5 times, first 2 times they
replied that "it's still in backorder", the last 3 times they didn't
even reply! Then I started calling in on the phone, first of all their
phone service is awful letting you call in one number, then referring
to another number etc. The two times I got someone at the phone they
told me that they couldn't do much about it because it depends on the
manufacturer. That's just too easy to blame it on someone else. And
after 5 months, it is their responsibility to care about the status of
the backorder. They said me they would check it "the same day", I am
still waiting for their reply...
I would say that normally B&H has good service, but they lack proper
customer support in these problem cases; they really can't handle
customer complaints. In case of this backorder delay, they blamed it on
the manufacturer, but surely it's part their responsibility to look
after the backorder.
I just have the feeling B&H wants we to cancel the order (and forget
about it...), but that would be too easy for B&H. Really B&H, you have
disappointed me. Any one else had problems like these?
Now I just called a shop in the UK, that said they could deliver it in
3-5 days. Going to try to call once more, and ask for the manager.
They lost a customer...
