I've just purchased a Sony DRU-810A and wish to make backups for files.
I've used http://www.american-digital.com for purchasing CD-R media in
the past (I use the gold Mitsui MAM-A CD-R media).

What is currently the BEST DVD-R media with good longevity? I've read
horror stories about Princo, but hear that Ritek is really good. Which
Ritek discs are the best? Is there another company that is better?

Your opinions/testimonies would be greatly appreciated.

Paul,

Thank you for the info. I do know people who use Taiyo Yuden. I was
comparing the differences:

Do you know if there is a big difference between Cyanine and
PhthaloCyanine as far as longevity is concerned? I've read that
PhthaloCyanine is the best and should be used.

Thanks,
JS

Sorry, my knowledge doesn't stretch that far. From what i can see
Cyanine has to have something added to it to stop it being sensitive
to light, where the other has a more natural resistance. It also
sounds like Cyanine was the original.
