Just got a new computer with a Lite-On SOHW-1633S DVD burner. This
burner does +R at 16x, but -R at only 8x. So I was gonna get some
+R 16x media and burn at that speed. But reading earlier messages
here, I wonder is 16x is ready for prime time yet.

If 8x is the better route, should I get +R or -R, and should I get
16x media even if I'm only going to burn at 8x?

And finally, if anyone out there has this particular burner, what
brand(s) have you had good luck with, or bad luck with?
