Hi All,
I never used my 2 year old DVD drive much. I believe it is a combined
DVD Reader /CD Burner. The make is Plextor.
Despite the fact that I hardly use it, it seems to be broken. Most of
the time when I put in a CD or DVD, the drive appears to 'try' reading
the disc a few times. It then appears to 'give up' and blinks the "busy"
LED on the front panel at a 2 second interval until hte CD is taken out.

I have attempted cleaning the drive with a cleaner CD. This has not made
a difference. I find it worriying that a device that has hardly ever
been used is broken. I now need a working DVD drive immediately for
coursework.
If necessary I will buy and install a new DVD.

Any tips or advice about this would be gratefully recieved! What should
I do?

Regards
Jo
