Converting a .wmv file to a playable DVD |
|
|
A friend has given me a movie in the form of a .wmv file, but I'd like to
convert it so that I can watch the DVD on my TV (via the DVD player, of
course).
It looks like I can do this, in principle, using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.
My problem is that the resulting movie requires over 10GBytes, and the DVD
capacity I can support is 4.7GB (the .wmv file is 1.2GB).
Any suggestions for how I can shrink the movie somehow to make it fit?
Thanks very much,
Jonathan

Download a copy of GSpot and see what the image size and
audio format of the two files are. There are a number of possible
causes for the size differences. Some DVD software assumes
that no matter what, you want an image size of 720x480 NTSC
or the PAL equivalent. Some will convert the compressed audio
of your .wmv into uncompressed PCM audio.
So post what those factors are for your .wmv. and the .vob or
..mpg files produced by your Roxio product.
Luck;
